Will enable Random Acts of Kindness to continue throughout the year. People in need are able to receive an Act of Kindness from the Foundation, providing assistance to their circumstances.

The principle is for those who give to the Foundation to continue to be a part of every future Foundation RAK without decreasing the value of the initial investment.

Every dollar given to the Foundation remains within the charity and only the annual interest will be used to help RAK people.  Thus every contributed dollar continues to work forever.

 Example:
if you give $1000 to the Foundation today, the money remains in the Foundation and in 10 years time that $1000 is still continuing to provide funds to help RAK people or organisations.

 Example:
$1000 invested at a 10% return will in 10 years signify over $760 used as RAKs, $220 reinvested back into the Foundation, increasing the original donation to $1220 and $105 in Foundation running costs.

Imagine if 1000 people gave $1000?
$1,000,000 invested at a 10% return will annually allow $70,000 to be given away; allowing an amazing $760,000 to be given away in only 10 years with a remaining Foundation fund of $1,220,000! (excluding any additional funds received during the 10 year period).

Because RAKs are random acts, the Foundation would not have an application approval process. RAKs would be decided in quarterly Foundation board meetings. The decision process would include a variety of considerations including: the boards knowledge of the requirement; the unique circumstance of the need; the nature of the beneficiary(ies), including the number of people that would be positively affected by the RAK. Friends and family members of board members could not be recipients of Foundation RAKs.  RAKs could be for individuals, families or organisations within New Zealand. Full policy information will be available via the Foundation website.
